Project Futures Great Ocean Road Trek
Story
I have paid for the whole trip myself, and this is pure fundraising and awareness - all money raised goes to the cause.
All funds raised will be going to PROJECT FUTURES partner, The Salvation Army who have an anti-trafficking unit comprising of a safe house for trafficked women in Sydney and a program called The Freedom Advocates, that empowers survivors in Australia to engage in advocacy activities.
PROJECT FUTURES is an Australian organisation whose vision is “to create an empowered world where every person can take action against human trafficking and exploitation.” If you want to know more about the PROJECT FUTURES click on: www.projectfutures.com.
I would welcome any contribution, that you could make (and it is tax deductible).
Activity
PROJECT FUTURES Trust
PROJECT FUTURES has recently been approved for deductible gift recipient status (DGR) for our Australian based projects for any donation over $2!
We currently support two Australian projects who are working to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation:
1. The Salvation Army's Safe House for Trafficked Women has been in partnership with PROJECT FUTURES since June 2011. The Safe House provides supported accommodation for women in Sydney and women are offered support by way of crisis and longer term assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Casework focuses on holistic support including financial assistance, access to legal, medical and mental health services, education, employment services, rights education, social support, living skills, personal development and recreational activities. We also support The Freedom Advocates Project within our partnership which empowers survivors to engage in advocacy activities aimed at ending human trafficking and slavery. Participants are offered formal training and practical support to deliver community education, peer mentoring and policy recommendations, to improve the response of community and government agencies. The goal of the project is to ensure survivors are given a voice in the creation of programs and policies designed to assist them.
Please give generously and support the amazing work these organisation provide.
